This year’s Holiday Party, held Saturday, December 15th at the Jefferson Country Club, market the 16th Annual Silent Auction where employees had the opportunity to bid on items with proceeds going to benefit several local organizations.

Technology is a wonderful thing and has made our lives easier in so many ways. For example, travel is made easier thanks to GPS navigation, whether it’s integrated in your new car’s dashboard or on your mobile device. You just plug in the address of your destination and click “GO” and let the magic happen. Before you know it, you’ve got a route spelled out for you to follow, sometimes even taking into consideration traffic or construction, so that you get where you want to go with ease. Business Leaders gathered at Heartland Bank’s main office on October 31st for a Power Breakfast presentation to help them better understand the impact of state and local taxes. Presenting was Laurence Jones, Director of the State and Local Tax Practice at Brixey & Meyer, and he led the discussion with information about how to reduce your risk of non-compliance on state and local taxes, as well as taking advantage of all incentives available when you invest in your business.
