In 1998 Co-Founders Ed Harmon and Jim Ranney recognized the growing trend of companies throughout the 1990’s downsizing and outsourcing non-core operations. Together they created Spartan Warehouse and Distribution as a public warehousing and trucking company, taking advantage of Ohio’s central location. In 2003, the company’s name changed to Spartan Logistics, mostly for marketing and ease of use.
