On March 15, Heartland Bank and 104.9 the River partnered to host the 7th annual Heartland Bank Money Matters Free Financial Summit. The Saturday morning event took place at the First Baptist Church of Grove City and attracted almost 200 guests interested in the free financial advice being offered.
Hot coffee and doughnuts (and several Heartland Community Bankers) welcomed the guests to Grove City and upon arrival, they each received personalized packets with their chosen class schedules. Eleven classes were offered, ranging from credit reports to credit card debt and from budgeting to buying a home.
104.9 the River’s Morning Show host Josh Hooper served as the emcee for the wrap-up session and started off the Q & A’s by introducing Heartland Bank President and CEO Scott McComb, who welcomed the crowd via recorded message. Before the lunch break, a panel of Heartland Bank experts answered many challenging financial questions from the audience.
When asked about the Summit sessions, some attendees commented on their experiences:
- “Thank you Heartland Bank for hosting this event, it was very beneficial.”
- “We only had the option to attend three classes. I wanted to go to all 11 of them!”
- “Very knowledgeable teachers.”
- “The information was valuable and has made me confident that I can address my debt and improve my credit score.”
During the closing session, Steve Hines, COO at Heartland Bank, proudly presented Pastor Brian Corbett with a donation for the youth program at the First Baptist Church of Grove City. The Money Matters Financial Summit ended with a free lunch provided by Nelson’s Catering of Grove City.
Craig Bennington, National Sales Manager from 104.9 the River, said “We’re lucky to be able to invite our listeners to such a top-notch and yet FREE event. You see hundreds of families leave grateful for what is really life-changing advice and information you’d normally have to pay significantly for. Heartland Bank really goes above and beyond to host this event – it’s a home run!”
A special thank you to our partners at The First Baptist Church of Grove City, Nelson’s Catering, 104.9 the River and of course, to all of our employees for teaching and volunteering at the event. It’s people like you that makes Heartland Bank a place “Where Banking Feels Good”.
