Wil TrappWhen Crew President Mark McCullers announced that the Columbus Crew and Heartland Bank had forged a partnership for the coming 2014 soccer season, he said in a club statement, “This partnership is a great opportunity for the Crew to support a like-minded and locally based community asset.” Like-minded? Heartland Bank thrives on building strong local relationships. That’s our middle name! And as the Crew heads into their 2014 home opener in mid-March, the club is cultivating relationships all over town to garner support for the 15 year old franchise. Locally based community asset? Heartland Bank has been in business since 1911 and with 11 locations in central Ohio, we’ve established a tradition of service to local communities. We proudly support worthwhile efforts of community organizations, educational systems and youth activities. The Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools have embraced technology as well through the gamut of cloud computing, bandwidth, HTML, java applets, spyware detection and web services – all while developing a great digital learning curriculum for the students in the district.

Heartland Celebrates New Location in Downtown Columbus

Capitol Square StaffThe good news about Heartland Bank’s recent downtown move is that the new location is only two short blocks to the west of the old location. The bad news is that on moving day, the temperature was two degrees, there were a few inches of snow on the ground and the wind was gusting upwards of 29 miles per hour through the wind tunnel that is downtown Columbus, Ohio.

Julie RadabaughThis month’s employee spotlight features the Stygler Road branch office Assistant Manager Julie Radabaugh, an eleven year employee that is proud to have her thumb on the pulse of the branch. As Assistant Manager, Julie greets customers and helps them complete their transactions. You can also find her behind the “line” over-riding a computer restriction, standing in with dual control verification or stepping in to work the tubes or drawer at the drive-through lane on a busy day. “I am most proud of the customer base I have built over the years,” Julie said. “My goal is to treat everyone like they are my most important transaction of the day.”

And while we’re all preparing for the holidays, we’re faced with the unfortunate reality that property taxes are due in mid-January.
