Congratulating George R. Smith on his Retirement After 20 Successful Years

George SmithIn 1995, Heartland Bank president Tiney McComb hired George R. Smith as his new CFO. “At that time, Tiney was looking for a partner he could count on to lead the entire operations and accounting areas of the bank. He needed someone who would work hard and selflessly serve the shareholders, manage risk and costs, as well as provide the analytical counterpart to complement Tiney’s sales, growth and marketing acumen,” according to Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO of Heartland Bank. During the next twenty years, George helped manage Heartland Bank’s growth to $675 million in assets with 12 Columbus area locations. On his birthday last week, George Smith retired.

Columbus Crew SC Announces Latest Community Partnerships

Shortly after the announcement last week that the Columbus Crew SC’s new partnership with MAPFRE Insurance would re-name historic Crew Stadium, the club also announced a new radio partnership with local alternative station CD102.5 and then shared the news about a new agreement with dining and merchandise provider and Levy Restaurants. Good things certainly do happen in threes! It was a very good week for the Columbus Crew SC!

For Heartland Bank’s Dublin branch, we’re gearing up for the annual “Greenest, Grandest St. Patrick’s Day Parade” at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14. Thousands of central Ohio residents and out of town guests line the streets as the mile-long community parade marches through historic Dublin. If you’re looking for a great spot to watch the parade, stop by our Dublin branch for coffee and doughnuts at 6500 Frantz Road and enjoy a front row seat!

After a few moves and name changes, the church settled in Pickerington to take advantage of the community’s growing suburban population base and the church administration rebranded themselves as Violet Baptist Church (VBC) in 2003.
