Gahanna Residents in Need (GRIN) Gets a Much-Needed New Home

GRIN Ribbon CuttingFor more than 40 years, Gahanna Residents in Need (known to the community as GRIN) has operated in disparate locations – providing services housed within a number of different Gahanna church locations. After a successful fundraising campaign that illustrated the community need, GRIN now has a new home on Morrison Road in Gahanna. Local leaders, the GRIN board and business officials celebrated the grand opening of the faith based organization’s new location last week.

Columbus Crew SC Announces Latest Community Partnerships

Shortly after the announcement last week that the Columbus Crew SC’s new partnership with MAPFRE Insurance would re-name historic Crew Stadium, the club also announced a new radio partnership with local alternative station CD102.5 and then shared the news about a new agreement with dining and merchandise provider and Levy Restaurants. Good things certainly do happen in threes! It was a very good week for the Columbus Crew SC!

Gahanna Jefferson Education Foundation Provides Community Focus on Education

In 2002, through the inspired vision of the School Business Advisory Council, the generous support of the Gahanna Rotary and the Gahanna Area Fund, the Gahanna Jefferson Education Foundation (GJEF) was created to provide a special community focus on education. Their purpose is to ‘Promote Excellence’ by funding innovative projects beyond the traditional expenditures of the Board of Education.

Franklin County TaxesFor those of you that are not quite sure how it’s already time for the holidays, we hate to give you one more thing to think about. In addition to preparing for the holidays, we’re all faced with the unfortunate reality that property taxes are due by the end of January. The good news is… Heartland Bank is here to help! In partnership with the Franklin County Treasurer’s Office, Heartland will be accepting Property Tax payments at each of our 11 branch offices from December 26, 2014 through January 30, 2015.

Feeding Those Unable to Feed Themselves - Johnstown Northridge Community Food Pantry

Twenty five years ago, Heartland Bank client Church of the Ascension Catholic Church worked with local resident Ruth Krumm to open the Johnstown-Northridge Community Food Pantry. The pantry grew from the period of time that Ruth served as a cook for events at the church, and she would often send leftovers to needy families in Johnstown. When the Church of the Ascension outgrew their building, Ruth helped the food pantry relocate to the church of another Heartland Bank client, the Johnstown Independent Baptist on Johnstown-Alexandria Road. After Krumm’s death last spring, volunteers vowed to keep her legacy (and the food pantry) alive!

2014 Holiday Party and 18th Annual Silent Auction for Local Charities

On Saturday, December 13, the Heartland family will gather for the annual Holiday Party and celebrate the 18th annual Silent Auction with proceeds benefiting several community food banks and local charities.
