Customers appreciated the convenience of banking on their mobile devices through an app developed for use on both Apple and Android mobile platforms. The Gahanna Jefferson Public Schools have embraced technology as well through the gamut of cloud computing, bandwidth, HTML, java applets, spyware detection and web services – all while developing a great digital learning curriculum for the students in the district.

Grove City Kids AssociationIf you live in the Grove City area, and have children who play sports, you’ve probably visited Murfin Fields, located on Haughn Road, directly behind Grove City High School. And, if you’ve been to Murfin Fields, maybe you’ve met one of two long-time board members of the Grove City Kids Association (GCKA), Board President Bob Lewis and Finance Director Sonny DeLong. Over the last 35 years, they’ve been coaches, Commissioners, and Board members for the GCKA and all-around champions for the young people of that community.

Heartland Bank Goes “Back to School” With Visit to Searfoss Elementary

Searfoss Elementary SchoolTwo financial professionals from Heartland Bank were recently invited to visit Mrs. Cartwright’s fourth grade Social Studies classes at Searfoss Elementary School in Johnstown to broaden their financial literacy and understanding of the banking industry. This was initiated in response to the school’s preparation for curriculum alignment with the newly adopted State of Ohio Common Core standards for Social Studies. Randy Kelly, Johnstown Branch Manager, and Tanya Bennett, Assistant Branch Manager, taught five sessions explaining basic financial vocabulary terms, how to distinguish a want from a need, and how to plan and implement a basic budget. They discussed currency and its production, as well as career opportunities within the banking environment.
