It’s that time of the year again and Heartland Bank is in the giving spirit! On Saturday, December 12, the Heartland family gathered for the annual Holiday Party at the Creekside Conference & Event Center in Gahanna. In addition, we celebrated the 19th annual Silent Auction with proceeds benefitting several community food banks and local charities. This year, twelve area organizations will benefit from the generosity of Heartland Bank employees bidding on more than 180 items donated to the holiday celebration. Central Ohio’s community bank continues the tradition of giving back to the communities that we serve.

Join us for the 18th Annual Heartland Bank Charity Golf Classic

What started out as an effort to help a few local children’s charities in 1996 has blossomed into a full-fledged annual fundraising event that has been gaining momentum in each of the last 17 years. Since that first golf outing in 1996, when the Bank made a small donation to the Licking County 4H Horse Council to last year when five local charities selected by the Bank collected a total of $25,000, Heartland has made benevolent donations of almost $350,000. Former recipients of funds from the Charity Golf Classic include Big Brother & Sisters of Central Ohio, Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, the Buckeye Ranch Foundation and Junior Achievement, among many others.

On July 4, 1973, the Simon family founded NOMIS (Simon spelled backwards) Golf Course - a 9-hole course just outside of Johnstown. In 1994, the sons of Charles Simon followed their dream of enlarging the course and property into an 18-hole development. They enlisted Barry Serafin to help design and develop the course, and Brian Fracker with Heartland Bank to assist with financing.

CD 102.5 SummerfestAccording to www.dictionary.com, the definition of a partnership is as follows: the state or condition of being a partner: participation; association; and joint interest. And so it is with Heartland Bank and the alternative station, CD102.5. Both organizations participate in each others’ events, they promote their association with each other by following the Listen Local/Bank Local theme and both organizations have a joint interest in philanthropy and community service. Did you know that over the last 20 years that CD102.5 has donated nearly $1,000,000 to children’s charities in central Ohio through their CD102.5 for the Kids 501(c) (3) organization? Or that Heartland Bank is hosting their 16th annual Heartland Bank Charity Golf Classic this fall and since 1996 has donated $294,000 themselves to many of the same children’s charities? Yep, it’s a good partnership!
