Continuing on with our tradition of sponsoring great community events, Heartland is again proud to be the sponsor of Heartland Bank Day at the Hartford Fair on Wednesday, August 8th – the day of the Demolition Derby!
Welcome to the 154th Hartford Independent Fair!
The Hartford Fair brings family fun, food and entertainment to the Northwest corner of Licking County. Organized in the fall of 1858 under the name "The Hartford Fair Society", the first fair was held in 1858 on land leased by Taber Sharp.
Agriculture has been stressed through the years along with the promotion of 4-H and youth activities. The Licking County Junior Fair was added to the program in 1938. From that time the majority of the growth of this fair has been with youth organizations and centered around their activities. They are proud of having one of the largest Junior Fair programs in the State.
Continuing with the agricultural theme, farm machinery displays remain a large part of the fair. Local machinery dealers are on-site to display their equipment to showcase new technology.
One of the features you’ll also notice if you come to the fair is the prominence of all the shade trees. Historical records dating back to 1895 document where the board planted an abundance of trees on the grounds. Of course, the shade was needed when the only transportation was the horse and buggy.
