 Saturday, September 08, 2012

Heartland Bank was honored at the Torch Award Centennial Gala Luncheon held at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom in downtown Columbus on September 6, 2012. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Center for Character Ethics announced that Heartland Bank was a recipient of its 18th annual Torch Awards for EthicalEnterprising(SM).

Founded in 1994, the national award-winning "educate & recognize" program is the premier public recognition of organizations that intentionally pursue the six TRUST! Principles of EthicalEnterprisingSM. The award embodies the BBB Center’s mission of advancing marketplace trust. A panel of judges selected Heartland Bank based on these six EthicalEnterprisingSM criteria.

For over 100 years Heartland has instilled its mission and shared values across the communities of central Ohio. Heartland has long been known for being a strong community bank and community partner with sound banking principles practiced by bankers with unquestionable integrity. “In a day and age when large sectors of the financial services industry are under such heavy scrutiny for their deceptive practices, it feels good to know that someone appreciates what community bankers do each day for our clients. We strive to do the right thing each and every day, not just when times are good. We are humbled and grateful to receive such a distinguished honor,” stated G. Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO of Heartland Bank.

The BBB Center for Character Ethics develops and conducts assessment, training and best-practice recognition programs designed to advance trust as an element of distinction in individuals and enterprises.
