Heartland Congratulates This Month's Employee Spotlight - B.J. Douglass

B.J. DouglassThis month’s Employee Spotlight features Heartland Bank’s Reynoldsburg Branch Manager, B.J. Douglass. He started in May of 2008 as a Customer Service Representative (teller) and is determined to become the CEO of a Community Bank one day. Way to set your sights high, B.J.!

Along with prospecting new business clients in the Reynoldsburg area, B.J. also helps our valued customers in many facets of the Bank’s lending operations – whether that’s a home equity line or loan, a car loan, a residential mortgage loan or one of the many other products that Heartland offers. As a Branch Manager, he is also responsible for the day-to-day operations of the branch that includes among other things, the supervision and coaching of five outstanding employees.

Not only is B.J. busy in his “day job”, he also volunteers time outside the office with the City of Reynoldsburg.   According to Mary Hudson of the Reynoldsburg Visitors Bureau, "The Reynoldsburg community is so very grateful for the wonderful working relationship that we have with B.J. Douglass of Heartland Bank. B.J. has become an integral part of our town and is involved with our Tomato Festival, Chamber of Commerce, Reynoldsburg Economic Development, Inc., and our Farmers Market. His support and participation are invaluable to us".

The Quality and Excellence Award has been a tradition at Heartland Bank since 1994 and many of our employees proudly wear the pin each day that signifies this honor. Employees that have been given this award were chosen based on excellent customer service, being an example of a team player, helping other employees and exceeding the expectations of their job duties and responsibilities. BJ was proud to be presented with the Quality and Excellence pin in April of 2009. To him, it means “providing the best service on a daily basis to every customer that walks in our door. I also believe in treating everyone the same way that you would like to be treated.” 

Chairman, President and CEO Scott McComb is pleased to have B.J. on board at the Heartland. “B.J.’s sincere approach to banking and service is appreciated by his clients and staff alike. He has become the Community Banker of Reynoldsburg and we look forward to him continuing to grow in the Heartland Bank family”

While BJ is an “All Buckeyes, All the Time” kind of guy, he also follows every Cleveland sports franchise and plays a mean game of golf. He and his wife Katy enjoy traveling and look forward to a return trip to the beautiful Pacific coast.

Mr. Douglass has consistently demonstrated to me over the years why I prefer my community bank over the large corporate giants. Thank you for your outstanding service and consistent desire to serve our community.
