Heartland Announces Partnership with Central Ohio's First Major League Sports Franchise, the Columbus Crew

In making the announcement about the new partnership, Scott McComb, Heartland’s Chairman, President and CEO said, “Heartland Bank is proud to serve as a preferred banking partner of the Columbus Crew. The Crew organization and their fans represent a growing and desirable demographic for Heartland. These young and passionate consumers Dare to be Massive through their support of this outstanding local franchise. Heartland is pleased to be working with such a professional organization that believes in building strong local relationships.”

The Columbus Crew is owned and operated by Precourt Sports Ventures, LLC (PSV) and is one of the League’s Charter Members, which won its first MLS Cup championship in 2008 and also captured the 2002 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and MLS Supporters’ Shield titles in 2004, 2008 and 2009. 2013 is the Crew’s 15th season at first of its kind Crew Stadium, the first topflight soccer-specific facility built in the United States. Founded by American sports pioneer Lamar Hunt, the club was purchased by Precourt Sports Ventures, LLC (PSV) on July 29, 2013 as part of the privately held investment and management firm’s sports and entertainment business enterprise.

This partnership is a great opportunity for the Crew to support a like-minded and locally based community asset,” said Crew President & General Manager Mark McCullers. “We are excited to be Heartland Bank’s first professional sports partner and look forward to capitalizing on this momentum to build a better community together, through soccer.

Heartland Bank will provide banking services for the Crew organization, including Crew Stadium, the Crew Juniors program and the Crew Soccer Foundation, the latter of which will benefit from a donation of a percentage of all purchases from customers utilizing the special Crew-branded debit card. Fans will see the Crew crest as part of the Bank’s downtown electronic billboard rotation, on signage at all 11 central Ohio Heartland Bank branches and digital space on The Bank will receive season-long on field and in-game marketing opportunities, website banners on and as part of Heartland Bank’s commitment to the local community, they will also become the presenting sponsor of Military Appreciation, with proceeds benefiting the USO.
