Church of Christ Food Pantry in Croton Serving the Needs of Many

 Monday, January 13, 2014

Church of Christ Food Pantry in CrotonFrom downtown to Dublin and Grove City to Gahanna, local food pantries serve the needs of the less fortunate in our communities all year long. The Church of Christ Food Pantry in Croton, as part of the Food Pantry Network of Licking County, is no different. The holidays have passed, but the need is still great, every day of the year.

The Food Pantry Network of Licking County is a cooperative that was established in 1981 to coordinate the acquisition and distribution of emergency food supplies by working through its member food agencies. The Network receives assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Association, local CROP walks, and the Mid-Ohio Food Bank in Columbus. Financial support, however, also comes from the local communities in the form of cash contributions and food drives. The Croton community supported the pantry by raising $3,000 last March during their annual fund-raiser and food drive.

Looking for a way to help? A dollar goes a long way in providing food for the Croton Church of Christ Food Pantry. Did you know that the Food Pantry Network of Licking County can buy food for nine cents a pound? Or maybe you can provide a much needed food donation.

The Food Bank needs nutritious, non-perishable foods:

  • Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
  • Tuna and canned meat
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned foods with pop-top lids
  • Low-sugar cereals
  • 100% fruit juices in single serving boxes
  • Canned fruit packed in juice
  • Canned vegetables (low salt)

Heartland Bank is proud to have their roots in the Croton community and was pleased once again to support the food pantry. With a portion of the proceeds from this year’s Holiday Party Silent Auction and the generosity of a few private donors, Heartland made a $785 donation to the Croton Church of Christ Food Pantry.

Whether you are able to help or are in need of help, Heartland is proud to be able to serve you and your family in the coming year. Stop by any of our 11 locations and experience “Where Banking Feels Good!”
