Celebrating Faith and Community Service at the Sold Out 13th Annual Pastors Appreciation Breakfast

 Sunday, April 28, 2013

13th Annual Pastors Appreciation BreakfastOver 600 Pastors attended a sold out event at the 13th Annual Pastors Appreciation Breakfast, sponsored by 880 AM WRFD on April 24th at Villa Milano. This annual event gives pastors an occasion to be with other pastors and receive fresh insight and encouragement to help them continue their tireless service to their congregations.

Before the breakfast and program began the Pastors had the opportunity to visit with over 25 exhibitors. The Heartland Bank team was on hand to meet and visit with many of the Pastors and express to them their appreciation for all the great work in the communities they serve and the inspiration they give to the youth. “For many years we have been a sponsor of the Pastors Appreciation Breakfast. We are proud to recognize many Pastors and friends that we have worked with over the years. Heartland has been very involved with the church community and helping with their financial needs,” stated G. Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO.

Tony EvansA very inspirational message was given by the guest speaker, Tony Evans, Th.D, a Christian pastor and a widely-syndicated radio broadcaster in the United States. Dr. Evans is one of the country’s most respected leaders in evangelical circles. As a pastor, teacher, author and speaker, he serves the body of Christ through his unique ability to communicate complex theological truth through simple, yet profound, illustrations. While addressing the practical issues of today, Dr. Evans is known as a relevant expositor. New and veteran pastors alike regard him as a pastor of pastors and a father in the faith.

Dr. Evans serves as Senior Pastor to the over 9,500 member Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, which was founded in 1976 with 10 members meeting at his home. He is also founder and president of The Urban Alternative, a national organization that seeks to bring about spiritual renewal in urban America through the church. The Urban Alternative radio broadcast, "The Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans," can be heard over 500 outlets daily throughout the U.S. and in over 40 countries worldwide. The broadcast can also be viewed on several television stations.

Dr. Evans' goal is to transform communities around the world by changing it from the inside out. Both the National Adopt-A-School Initiative (NCAASI) and its paired program "Miracle of the Million" are aimed at empowering families to impact churches which transform communities within cities to reach the state and revolutionize the country in order to touch the world.Dr. Evans currently serves as chaplain for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys and is also the longest serving NBA chaplain which he has done by serving the Dallas Mavericks for 32 years.

At the conclusion of the program, the Pastors and attendees were entertained by 220b Live It! Based out of Cleveland, OH, 220b is a 4 person high energy contemporary Christian band. Their sound is a combination of tight harmonies, creative musical arrangements and powerful percussion. Galatians 2:20b is the group's mission that they seek to live their lives by. The group's motto is “live it!” a challenge to live out your faith every day to the best of your abilities and you can visit them online at
