So Many Ways to Celebrate Independence Day in the Columbus Area

On July 4, 1776, our founding fathers claimed independence from Great Britain and democracy was born in this great land. Every year about this time, Americans celebrate that freedom and independence with family gatherings picnics and community events. Here at Heartland Bank, we’ll be right there with you, celebrating every step of the way. We’re proud to be a part of the communities in which we serve and look forward to seeing you this weekend in the city parks, high school stadiums and parade routes all around Columbus and central Ohio.

Heartland Bank Saves the Day for This (New) Small Business Owner

Paul Balestra had been through a rough couple of years – a workplace injury forced him out of a job for several months and as a result, he was on the verge of homelessness. He was soon fortunate to hire on at Dublin Road Auto Care and the owner of the shop taught Paul the ins and outs of running a repair shop. At that time, he certainly had no inclination that good days were ahead of him.

Come Out and Be Part of Johnstown's 39th Annual Firemans Festival

Times were tough in the mid 1970s for the Village of Johnstown Fire Department. Former Fire Chief Johnny Johnson realized that in order to provide much needed EMS service to the community, he would have to learn the art of fund raising. And quick! Golf outings and bake sales helped, but not enough. Thirty-eight years later, what started out as a local street fair to earn a few dollars has turned into a full blown old-fashioned festival with true hometown flair.
