 Friday, October 05, 2012

Mark Posey PresentsOn Tuesday, September the 25th, Mark Posey of Heartland Investment Services spoke to a group of Westerville residents and business owners about the “Fundamentals of Investing”. The session started with a 5:15 pm “meet and greet” and the formal presentation beginning at 5:30 pm.

Heartland Spotlight Series – Helping you Grow, Protect and Manage Your Assets

Mark began the evening by familiarizing everyone with the basic terminology of investing and different investment products. He also discussed the condition of the US Economy and equity markets. During his presentation Mark stressed three important fundamentals for all investors:

First - Set specific goals for your investments and financial plan
Second – Accurately determine your risk tolerance.
Third - Work with a financial advisor to create an asset allocation that best fits you risk tolerance and investment needs.

The group also discussed the impact of low interest rates to the economy and local businesses. They also discussed the impact current events, and recent Fed actions could have on their portfolios. Mark also shared some of the alternative strategies and investments he is using to help his clients lower the volatility in their portfolios and generate more income.
