The Heartland Bank Charity Golf Outing was first held in 1996, with an event for nine teams at Echo Springs in Johnstown. That year, Heartland proudly made a donation of $5,577.25 to the Licking County 4H Horse Council with the proceeds from that Golf Outing. Throughout each of the next sixteen years, the Bank has made annual donations from $1,000 to $15,000 to local charities in Columbus and the surrounding communities. Accepting donations in previous years have been organizations such as Jr. Achievement of Central Ohio, Grove City Kids Association, The Buckeye Ranch Foundation, Volunteers of America Ohio, March of Dimes Ohio, New Albany Community Foundation, Grove City Marching Band, the YMCA People Helping People campaign and Special Olympics Ohio.
With the financial support of our sponsors, players and community leaders, Heartland Bank is able to select 5 to 6 funding recipients each year. In 2013, the following charities will be honored –CD102.5 for the Kids, Masonic Learning Centers for Children with Dyslexia, Ohio 4-H Celebration of Youth, Pelotonia 2013 Tiney’s Team, and Victory Ministries for Children’s Outreach Program.
“One of Heartland Bank’s deeply rooted shared values is its commitment to the enrichment of local communities through our involvement,” stated G. Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO. “We pride ourselves on being a true community bank - service to the local community is a Heartland tradition.”
