August 31, 2012, Gahanna, Ohio – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Center for Character Ethics announced that Heartland Bank is a recipient of its 18th annual Torch Awards for EthicalEnterprising(SM). Heartland Bank will be honored at the Torch Award Centennial Gala Luncheon, held at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom in downtown Columbus on September 6, 2012.
“In a day and age when large sectors of the financial services industry are under such heavy scrutiny for their deceptive practices, it feels good to know that someone appreciates what community bankers do each day for our clients. We strive to do the right thing each and every day, not just when times are good. We are humbled and grateful to receive such a distinguished honor,” stated G. Scott McComb, Chairman, President and CEO of Heartland Bank.
Founded in 1994, the national award-winning "educate & recognize" program is the premier public recognition of organizations that intentionally pursue the six TRUST! Principles of EthicalEnterprising(SM). The award embodies the BBB Center’s mission of advancing marketplace trust. A panel of judges selected Heartland Bank based on these six EthicalEnterprising(SM) criteria.
